At Casas Rurales de Vicorto, we are committed to biodiversity conservation and local development in the Sierra del Segura mountains, in Elche de la Sierra (Albacete). Our complex of five houses, restored from a 19th-century building, is located in the hamlet of Vicorto, very close to the Los Calares del Río Mundo y de la Sima Natural Park and surrounded by lush nature—a tranquil environment ideal for disconnecting from noise and pollution and enjoying starry skies.
1. Sustainable Tourism in a Natura 2000 Area
- We operate under the motto of sustainable and responsible tourism, reducing and recycling waste (paper, plastics, glass, and organic matter) and aiming for “zero plastics” in our accommodations.
- We use biodegradable cleaning products to minimize our chemical footprint on the environment and the quality of the local water.
- Every year we plant trees to offset some of our CO2 emissions, thus contributing to the regeneration of the vegetation and the landscape of the Sierra del Segura.
- Our pool uses saltwater, an option that reduces the use of chemical chlorine and improves the bathing experience for both people and the local wildlife.
- We are very close to the Los Calares del Río Mundo y de la Sima Natural Park and areas of great ecological richness, making our stay an ideal starting point for exploring the region's biodiversity in a respectful way.
2. Supporting the local area and an authentic rural experience
- We prioritize the use of local products, promoting the local economy, so that the purchases and services required by the accommodation benefit producers and businesses in Elche de la Sierra and the surrounding area.
- Our renovation of the old 19th-century house has allowed us to preserve a traditional building and transform it into five charming rural accommodations (Cantero, Gil, Salera, María, and Barquero), maintaining the habitation of Vicorto and preventing the abandonment of its built heritage.
- We are a pet-friendly accommodation with a dedicated pet pool and spacious common areas with barbecues, a wood-fired oven, and a children's playground, encouraging families and groups to explore the Sierra del Segura outside of peak tourist seasons and extend their stay in the region.

The Rural Houses of Vicorto are a group made up of 5 houses: Cantero, Gil, Salera, María and Barquero obtained after the rehabilitation carried out in an old 19th century construction.
They are located in the Sierra de Segura, Albacete, in the district of Vicorto, located 4 km from Elche de la Sierra. The district of Vicorto is surrounded by nature in its purest form, next to the Segura River, and very close to the Los Calares del Río Mundo and La Sima Natural Park, one of the most interesting territories of Albacete, in terms of ecological and landscape values, without forgetting the zoos and botanicals.
