We are committed to the environment and work towards sustainable tourism.
That is why we are taking measures in this direction. More information
At La Joya del Valle de Ricote, we are committed to biodiversity conservation and local development in the Ricote Valley. Our rural accommodation was created by restoring former workers' houses from a family citrus farm and combines relaxation, agritourism, and experiences connected to the valley's agricultural and cultural landscape.
1. Citrus Culture
We are committed to agritourism and the revival of traditional citrus culture through experiences, interpretive trails, and workshops related to citrus fruits.
We also work with grafting and agricultural preservation techniques to conserve traditional and endangered varieties on the farm itself.
2. Efficiency and Resources
We implement energy efficiency measures with LED lighting, outdoor solar lights, solar panels, water-saving devices, dual-flush toilets, and thermally insulated windows and doors.
We also monitor consumption, have a septic tank, and provide bins for separating organic and recyclable waste, both in the accommodation and in the parking area.
3. Experiences and Territory
We offer interpretive activities such as the Citrus Tour, Citrusmania, and Citrus Cooking, always in small groups and within the estate, with environmental and safety guidelines explained at the beginning.
The accommodation also recommends less crowded routes and places, such as the Bridges Route and the Waterwheels of Abarán, to enrich your visit to the destination.
4. Local Development
We prioritize fruit from the estate and the market, olive oil from the Ricote Valley, bread and muffins from the village wood-fired oven, homemade jams, and other local products.
In addition, we collaborate with the Olea Association, conduct citrus cooking workshops with local chefs, and work with local staff and suppliers, strengthening the project's connection to the regional economy.
