At La Posada del 42, we are committed to biodiversity conservation and local development in Carrascalejo, within the Villuercas-Ibores-Jara Global Geopark in Extremadura. Our four-star rural guesthouse is located in the Plaza de la Iglesia, right on the Camino Real to Guadalupe, offering a place of rest for pilgrims and travelers exploring this rural environment and the geopark's landscapes.

We are located within a UNESCO-recognized geopark, allowing guests to discover unique geological, scenic, and cultural treasures through marked trails and visits to nearby villages. Our location on the historic Camino Real to Guadalupe, just 42 kilometers from the monastery, invites you to explore the route on foot or by bicycle, promoting slow travel and more environmentally conscious tourism.
2. Comfort, Village Life, and Local Culture
Located in the heart of Carrascalejo, opposite the town square and church, we encourage our guests to immerse themselves in the daily life of the village and to use the small services and shops in the area, thus supporting the local economy year-round. We offer the entire house for five people, with bright and well-equipped rooms, making it ideal for longer stays from which to leisurely explore both the geopark and nearby towns such as Talavera de la Reina or Navalmoral de la Mata.

Posada del 42 is a house offering all the comforts and services of a 4-star rural guesthouse.
The house boasts a unique location in Carrascalejo: situated in the town square next to the church and town hall, with views of the Sierra de Altamira mountain range. Any point in the town is within walking distance, allowing easy access to its amenities: restaurants, bars, sports facilities, and more.
This self-catering rural house sleeps 4 (plus 1 extra bed) and features a separate living room with views of the church square and the Sierra de Altamira, two double bedrooms, a full bathroom with a rain shower, a fully equipped kitchen, an interior patio with an electric charging point, heating throughout the house, air conditioning in the bedrooms and living room, a work area, Wi-Fi, and a local tourist information point, among other amenities.
The entire house has natural light, high ceilings, and wide hallways and doorways (accessible for people with disabilities).
A very peaceful village with endless possibilities:
- Walk or cycle part of the Camino Real to Guadalupe, which passes right in front of the house.
- Hike along the trails through the Villuercas Ibores Jara UNESCO Global Geopark.
- Enjoy tastings of local products, such as olive oil and cheese, with the producers themselves.
- Visit the fossil interpretation center in the neighboring village of Navatrasierra.
- Go sport fishing in the Recuerda municipal reservoir.
- Play sports at the municipal gym and sports center, which includes summer swimming pools and a paddle tennis court.
