Wildlife observation

Experience dedicated to these two great birds of prey: osprey and bearded vulture, which fly again in the Bay of Santander (Cantabria) and in the Picos de Europa (Asturias), respectively. Travel and accommodation are at the client's expense, for greater comfort and flexibility in the visitor's time. We take care of the two guided bird watching activities around these two spectacular birds. The first day is a guided boat trip along the estuary of the Miera River in the Bay of Santander, and goes about 5 nautical miles upstream with interpretation of 2 Red Natura 2000 sites, and focusing on bird watching, with the Osprey as the flagship species (since to go up the Miera River account is necessary high tide period, annually we schedule the days and times that it is possible to perform this service). The second day is focused on the visit to the Asturian part of the Picos de Europa National Park, Natura 2000 Network and Biosphere Reserve. This is where the Bearded Vulture reintroduction project is being carried out. The activity will take place in the area of the Covadonga Lakes, where the adaptation cages of the vultures that come from the Pyrenees and, since 2024, also from Cazorla, are located. In these cages they will spend a period before being released. In the Mirador de la Reina is the food supply point used to teach a social habit to the young lammergeyers. Fridays are the best days to carry out this activity since it is the day of food supply and therefore the busiest day.
