We are committed to the environment and work towards sustainable tourism.
That is why we are taking measures in this direction. More information
At Casa Sidrón, we are fully committed to preserving our region and its natural and cultural heritage in the Navia River basin. Our traditional cuisine, based on local and seasonal ingredients, combines lodging and fine dining with the active protection of the landscape and the local way of life.
1. Protecting the Region and Biodiversity
We collaborate with the A Montaña Plántese project, a community-led initiative defending the region against the construction of wind farms. Additionally, we work with products certified by the IXP Terras do Navia, linking our offerings to local varieties and the conservation of the area’s agricultural landscape.
2. Local and seasonal cuisine
Most of what we offer comes from local producers, and our website describes our concept as traditional, homemade, zero-mile cuisine made with local products. We also incorporate our own products, such as meats, vegetables, and the wines of Adega Sidrón, made with native varieties from the IXP Terras do Navia.
3. Reduced environmental impact
We use energy-efficient light bulbs, heat with a biomass fireplace, and manage glass, plastic, and special waste separately through the recycling center. Additionally, we have a septic tank with its own treatment system, properly store and dispose of used cooking oil, and provide containers for taking home leftovers, thereby reducing food waste.
4. Local development and regional network
We collaborate with several local businesses to create joint experiences with a positive impact and to continue promoting the destination. We also support local commerce by recommending nearby shops, producers, and markets to our guests, and we reinforce this effort through joint initiatives with A Ribereigas, Ecomuseo País do Abeyeiro, and Eqqusfera.

A small family-run restaurant built in the house’s former stables, located in Pieiga (municipality of Negueira de Muñiz, Lugo), in the heart of the Navia River Valley, within the Río Eo, Oscos, and Terras de Burón Biosphere Reserve. Seating for 20 guests in the indoor dining room; features a terrace and private parking.
The entire menu features traditional home-style cooking using local and seasonal ingredients: meat (organic veal, Negreira lamb), locally grown vegetables, and wines from Adega Sidrón—the family’s own winery, with three hectares of vineyards planted with native varieties in Pieiga and an annual production of 6,000–8,000 bottles, certified under the IXP Terras do Navia designation.
The owners, Javier Sanromán and Rosa Sanromán, opened Casa Sidrón in 2013, coinciding with the family winery’s transition to professional operations. The project connects the dining table with the vineyard and the landscape of the Upper Navia, a unique territory within the Río Eo, Oscos, and Terras de Burón Biosphere Reserve
