Hike through the breathtaking coastal landscapes of northeastern La Palma

A wonderful walk through La Palma's most lush cultural landscape with stunning views of the coast and the ocean. Two highlights of this route through the northeast of the island are the picnic at a breathtaking viewpoint over the awe-inspiring La Galga ravine and a visit to the beautiful natural beach of Playa Nogales.

The area through which the walk takes us was known as the "Granary of La Palma." Today, cereals are no longer grown there, but there is a remarkable variety of herbs and fruits that fill with color the approximately 3 hours that this 7-kilometer, medium-difficulty hike takes.
Most of the trail is rocky but well-surfaced, constantly going up and down through several small gorges. The first thing that stands out is the viewpoint over the deep La Galga ravine. Here we sit down to enjoy a picnic with local products (included) and let our gaze wander. Your eyes are lost in the distance over the rugged coastline. After regaining our strength, we pass by the Devil's Cave and arrive at the beautiful natural beach of Playa Nogales. Although swimming is too dangerous due to strong underwater currents, we can cool off a bit at the shore, so don't forget your swimwear. The return trip is by taxi, thus also contributing to local development.
