-At the beginning of our activity the native guide informs about the natural space where we are, its important natural values and its protection figures. As well as about what we can do for their conservation and for what kind of activity we must ask permission: e.g. uncorking, logging, burning stubble ...

 

-Our activity does not cause impact on the environment since we go through a marked trail where we make an interpretation of the fauna and flora that we find on our way through the pasture talking about the use that our elders gave to the different plants both medicinal and culinary. Respecting at all times to these wild plants without carrying out their collection. On the contrary, the guide is personally responsible for taking any waste that we find on our way or at the meeting point and deposit it in the places provided for recycling.

 

- At the time when the Quercus give us acorns if we collect some when they are germinated for planting and subsequent reforestation encouraging visitors to perform this practice. - We value the old trades of the region and support the local economy by marketing products such as pottery, honey, sweets, liquors ... in addition to the sausages and hams that we produce and cured in natural dryers (without engines).

 

-At the end of the visit we take care of recycling any waste generated.

Live the experience hand in hand with a local guide

The visit consists of three parts:

First, we walk a trail of almost 3 km through a pasture of centenary trees, where we make an interpretation of the fauna and flora that we find on our way. We visit a private farm where the Iberian pig is raised in freedom and explain everything about their breeding, feeding, breed, etc..

In the second part, we visit an old ham factory museum, drying rooms, cellar and explain the process of making sausages and Iberian hams.

We finish with a tasting of cured products derived from the Iberian pig: sausages paired with red wine with Designation of Origin and acorn-fed Iberian ham paired with white wine.

If you wish, you can visit the store, where you can buy local and handmade products, thus supporting the local economy.

Prices

- Route for adults (from 13 years old): 40€/person. - Route for children (from 3 to 12 years old): 20€/person. - Route for children under 2 years old: free of charge. *Group rate (please consult).

The price includes

- Guided tour and interpretation of the fauna and flora of the dehesa. - Guided tour of the facilities of the ham and sausage factory. - Tasting of Iberian products: sausages and acorn. -Fed ham paired with DO wines.

Timetable

From Monday to Saturday: - From 10:00h to 14:00h. - From 09:00h to 13:00h (summer schedule).

More information

In the first part: (trail of 3 kms).   It is not advisable to take a baby seat or wheelchair because of the slopes in some sections of the track, in summer it can raise dust or if it rains there may be mud or puddles.    In the case of babies it is advisable to carry them in a backpack or handkerchief and in the case of wheelchair you can arrive in your vehicle directly to the farm, we would send you the location and we would meet the group directly in the private farm where we raise the pigs.    Other facilities are accessible.

Booking conditions

- To formalise your booking, you must pay 50% of the total amount by bank transfer (as a deposit). The rest can be paid on the day of the visit in cash or by credit card.

Cancellation policy

-72h. in advance the deposit will be refunded.
-48h. before the activity, 50% of the deposit will be refunded.
- Notifying the day before the activity (24h.) or the same day. There is no refund.
