We are committed to the environment and work towards sustainable tourism.
That is why we are taking measures in this direction. More information
The activity takes place in the Gorbeia Natural Park, a protected area that is home to a great diversity of flora and fauna. The local guide provides interpretation on the natural and cultural values of the park, helping visitors to understand the importance of the conservation of this environment. This includes learning about endemic species, unique ecosystems and the cultural history of the area.
1. The activity is designed to minimize negative impacts on the environment. This is achieved through sustainable practices such as waste reduction, the use of established trails to prevent soil erosion, and the promotion of responsible behavior among visitors. In addition, respect for wildlife is encouraged and sensitive areas are avoided so as not to disturb the natural habitat of local species.
2. One of the goals of the activity is to promote de-seasonalization and de-frequentation of the park. This means that visits to the park are encouraged during less crowded seasons, which helps distribute the impact of tourism throughout the year and reduces pressure on the natural environment during periods of high visitation. This contributes to the park's long-term conservation.
3. The activity not only promotes biodiversity conservation by educating visitors about the importance of preserving local ecosystems, but also contributes directly to conservation by supporting local development, involving local communities in the activity, providing employment for local guides, and promoting the purchase of local products, which strengthens the local economy and promotes a sustainable tourism model. Together, these aspects ensure that the activity meets ecotourism criteria, providing an educational and sustainable experience that benefits both the environment and local communities.
