We are committed to the environment and work towards sustainable tourism.
That is why we are taking measures in this direction. More information
- Easy hiking route suitable for all audiences, which does not require previous experience and / or physical condition, or specific equipment. Designed to complement other visits and/or experiences, it is an interpretive tour in which we will approach the Asturian rural world focusing on two of the most relevant aspects of it, the peasant world and cider. This activity is designed for small groups, maximum of 15 people, in order to get to know and interact with each of them and so that no one is left out of the explanations, to know first hand the process of elaboration of the most traditional drink in Asturias, facilitating the knowledge through experience, since we will actively participate in certain processes.
Open map Laviana (Asturias), España
The route takes place entirely in the Council of Laviana (protected landscape of the Cuencas Mineras), specifically between the villages of Entralgo, Villoria and Puente d'Arco, crossing the landscapes realistically described by the local writer Armando Palacio Valdés.
This is a journey in which we will approach the rural world, analyzing and interpreting with a real approach, far from "bucolic", the different aspects and elements that make up this landscape. The small urban framework of the village, how it is configured and why, the different ethnographic elements, the traditional architecture, the uses and exploitation of the soil, the Asturian peasantry, the planning and exploitation of the spaces surrounding the village,...
In the same tour, we will analyze the historical importance of the valley as one of the main communication routes and we will have the opportunity to visit the iconic medieval bridge, recently restored, Puente d'Arcu.
The activity is complemented with a short visit to the Environmental Education Center and Güerta Escuela "La Llera", where we will visit the farm for apple production and the traditional cider mill (still active) and of course, taste the homemade cider, which is made in the same place in the old style.
If it is done at the time of the year when this drink so closely linked to Asturies is made, usually in November, the experience will be complete, since we will have the opportunity to participate in the process of elaboration.
We will become "llagareros and llagareras" for a day, starting with the collection and selection of the apple, followed by the crushing and pressing of the same and ending with the taste of the product made with our own hands. A total experience!
