We are committed to the environment and work towards sustainable tourism.
That is why we are taking measures in this direction. More information
At Los Balanchares farm, we are committed to biodiversity conservation and local development in the Sierras Subbéticas Natural Park and UNESCO Global Geopark. Our approach is based on organic goat farming, traditional grazing, and immersive experiences that connect visitors with the landscape, livestock culture, and the conservation of this protected area.
1. Livestock Farming and Landscape Conservation: We maintain organic goat farming and support grazing in the Natural Park, a key practice for preserving mountain ecosystems and preventing wildfires. Through our visits and experiences, we explain how this livestock farming model contributes to protecting biodiversity, the traditional landscape, and the values ??of the UNESCO Geopark.
2. Interpretive Experiences and Small Groups: We highlight the pastoral profession and livestock culture of the area through explanations and interpretations of the environment provided by local staff trained in the values ??of the protected area. We conduct activities in small groups, ensuring personalized attention and avoiding overcrowding to minimize our impact on the natural and rural environment of Zuheros.
3. Good Environmental Practices on the Farm: We implement good environmental practices in the management of the farm, promoting the circular economy, minimizing the use of single-use plastics, and reducing the generation of non-recyclable waste in our activities. We also support initiatives for the conservation and monitoring of wildlife in the local area, with facilities for nature photography and environmental education, and we are officially affiliated with the European Charter for Sustainable Tourism (ECST).
4. Local Development and Employment: We promote local employment and local businesses, working with local suppliers and services and contributing to keeping people in rural areas. In doing so, we strengthen the productive and cultural identity of the Sierras Subbéticas region and promote more balanced and sustainable economic development.
