Evening Astronomy Sessions
<p>An evening of stargazing led by an expert with over 10 years of experience, a certified instructor with the Starlight Foundation and a certified SKYLAB astro-tourism guide through the Ávila Foundation and the Provincial Council of Ávila.<br><br>A variety of materials and tools are used to make the explanations engaging, including a green laser to point out objects in the sky, binoculars, large-aperture optical telescopes, and a new-generation smart telescope—all designed to fully observe the planets and deep-space objects using different magnifications and technologies.<br><br>You’ll learn to navigate by the stars, tell time, and recognize and locate the most prominent constellations in the sky for each season of the year. You’ll also explore basic concepts about the celestial sphere, our place in the universe, distances and sizes, and fascinating facts about celestial objects and the evolution of the cosmos.<br><br>The entire experience, including observing the sky through binoculars and large telescopes—the Moon and its craters, the planets and their details, star clusters, nebulae, galaxies, and more—will be unforgettable for both children and adults.<br><br>And there’s always room, as a grand finale, for a story or two about the mythological beings that fill the night skies with legends throughout the year.</p>

Guided Hiking Tour
<p>Led by expert guides in Natural Heritage Interpretation (holders of degrees in Environmental Science and Biology) with extensive experience in guiding recreational groups, these tours provide a simple and engaging introduction to the ecosystems and landscapes encountered along the routes. We provide a comprehensive overview of the environment along the route, connecting its climatic and geological features with the living beings that inhabit it.<br>By being in direct contact with the environment, you?ll easily grasp its significance and why it has remained this way to this day.<br><br>We easily identify the most significant species encountered along the way, identifying trees and shrubs by their appearance, shapes, and leaf types, as well as herbaceous plants by their scents, flowers, and texture... Notable wildlife species are also highlighted, identifying tracks, sounds, or their presence when we are lucky enough to spot them.<br><br>In addition to our own waste, all litter found along the way is collected for proper disposal at the end of the outing, identifying the environmental impacts it causes.<br><br>Enjoying an activity as healthy as walking, enriching the experience with all this content, subconsciously fosters a very pleasant sense of connection, of feeling part of Nature. This is very positive, since we only appreciate what we know; we only value and respect what we love.</p>

Guided Tour of the Historic Heritage
<p>Led by the museum guides, who know how to explain the most significant aspects of El Barracos historical heritage in a very accessible way, the tour begins at the Town Hall, proceeds along Santa Teresa Street, and descends to the Church of Our Lady of the Assumption (16th century), visitors will be immersed in a fascinating historical context as they explore this small Castilian town.<br><br>The Celts-Vettones, who left their mark in the form of boars carved in granite and even in the towns coat of arms and name, vestiges of Muslim influence, early medieval settlements that began to establish a permanent population in this territory, the Renaissance period of sculptural splendor, legends of the Tercios Militares linked to the very same Invincible Armada in Flanders, the adventures and dwellings of Saint Teresa, a flourishing historical industry of flour mills, ... The surprise of this guided tour through history is that a small village with about 2,000 inhabitants has so much to offer visitors.<br><br>And to top it all off, there are shops, bars, and restaurants where you can purchase and sample the best local foods, souvenirs, and traditional sweets.</p>

Micológica Field Trip
<p>This activity is one of the nature outings offered since the Nature Museum first opened, with over 16 years of experience organizing mycological workshops and excursions.<br><br>Participants receive a brief overview of the fungal kingdom and learn the proper way to collect specimens.<br>As we walk through the countryside, each participant collects the mushrooms they find in their basket, with the support and advice of the guide.<br><br>Once the foraging is complete, a mycology workshop is held right there in the field, led by the guide, to identify, classify, and explain the specimens found. The characteristics of each group are explained; the mushrooms are handled, smelled, and broken apart to learn their distinguishing features. Special attention is given to distinguishing edible mushrooms from poisonous ones, highlighting their fundamental differences.<br><br>Basic concepts are provided to learn how to photograph mushrooms in the most educational way possible, facilitating their subsequent identification.<br><br>As a reward, the most diligent ?students,? always under the instructor?s final supervision, will be able to take home the edible specimens they have collected and wish to taste, along with some recommendations for the best culinary recipes.</p>

Visit to the Alberche Valley Nature Museum
Guided tour of the museum?s various galleries. This tour will allow visitors to understand, in a highly visual, engaging, and accessible way suitable for all audiences, the significance of the natural heritage of the Alberche Valley, the Iruelas Valley, and the Central Mountain Range.
Throughout the museum?s five themed galleries, visitors can view dynamic sculptures, scenes, and life-size dioramas of birds, mammals, and recreated natural environments. A stampede of deer pursued by a pack of wolves, a pine forest, an oak grove, the river, and even the nocturnal world and its protagonists, the night birds of prey. All recreated with a degree of realism that surprises both children and adults.
Visitors will feel as though they are part of the ecosystem they are observing!
The exhibition is complemented by a multitude of fascinating displays in various collections and showcases: insects, minerals, feathers, bones and skulls, tracks...

Field Trip to Medicinal Plants
<p>Thanks to the numerous editions of this activity that have been held, a botanical inventory of some 60 species has been compiled, all of which have traditionally been used as medicinal remedies. Many are still in use today, and more than 80% are still utilized to extract their active ingredients for the production of medicines.<br><br>Interaction with the environment and the development of knowledge during this experience are complete. The sense of learning this activity instills in participants is guaranteed, as by the end of the route they are already able to identify a significant number of the most common medicinal plant species they have encountered.<br><br>And thanks to this brochure provided at the start, which allows participants to use their mobile phones to download content via QR codes, they can take the tour in self-guided mode and fully enjoy it again whenever they wish.</p>
