The Sabinares del Arlanza – La Yecla Natural Park is one of the most stunning natural destinations in Castile and León. Located in the southeast of the province of Burgos, it is renowned for being home to one of the best-preserved juniper forests in Europe, with centuries-old trees that create a unique and enchanting landscape. This valuable ecosystem is interspersed with pine forests, holm oak groves, moorlands, and deep canyons, forming a natural mosaic of great beauty.
One of its major attractions is the La Yecla Gorge, a spectacular canyon carved by the Mataviejas River between towering limestone walls that rise over 100 meters high. Its walkways offer breathtaking views and the chance to observe birds of prey up close , such as the griffon vulture, the golden eagle, and the peregrine falcon.
The park is complemented by an exceptional historical and cultural heritage.
